Thank you for choosing to stay with us at Alpine Pacific Holiday Park, Kaikoura.  Whether you are here on holiday or for business or other reasons, we hope your stay will be as enjoyable as possible.

Alpine Pacific Holiday Park is a family business.  Lee and Struan Boot, your hosts, have owned and operated the park since mid 2005. It is our priority to ensure your stay here meets or exceeds your expectations and with this in mind we are assisted by a team of professional and helpful staff.  Our office superstars, work hard to ensure that your stay here meets our high standards. It is important to us that if at any time during the course of your stay your expectations are not met, you let us know whilst you are here, so that we can immediately address this for you.

Cooking and Food Preparation

In our Motels and Studios, cooking facilities are provided along with a range of equipment and utensils. Should you require additional items simply come to reception and we will accommodate you where possible.

Please note that if there are strong cooking odors in the room (such as curry or fish), where it takes additional time and cleaning to remove the smell, an additional charge of one night’s accommodation may be incurred.

Standard Cabins and Sites - Cooking and Eating equipment is available for hire from reception. A charge of $3.00 p/person plus a bond of $20 is required to hire this equipment



Please use our BBQs for any ‘smokey’ or ‘strong smelling’ cooking. BBQs use is $1 for 30 minutes. These are located at the entrance to the pools.


Smoke Detectors

The smoke detectors are very sensitive, please use extractor fan when cooking.

In the event of an alarm in your room please come to reception immediately, (after hours intercom outside reception). The alarm can only be manually switched off by park staff so please contact us as soon as possible to avoid disruption to other guests.

We accept Visa, MasterCard & eftpos.


Electric Blankets

Electric blankets are on all motel beds and double beds in the Ensuite Cabins.  Settings are 1 low, 2 medium, 3 high.  Do not leave your electric blanket on overnight. Ensure your children’s blankets are switched off and be aware of how spilled water affects electric blankets.



All units have heating provided, please ensure these are turned off when not in the room.



An iron and ironing board is freely available in Park Laundry (between men and women's toilets/showers)


We are an environmentally conscious Holiday Park.

All towels are provided in all Ensuite rooms, however the standard cabins do not come with towels. These are available to rent from reception for $2 each.

Please help us to help the environment by reducing washing and detergents by placing your towels on the heated towel rails in your unit. If you would like a change of towels, please bring them to reception for replacement.



Motel rooms #18-24 are serviced daily between 11 and 12pm. If this service is not required please advise reception.

We are an environmentally aware Holiday Park. Please help us to help the environment by reducing washing and detergents by placing your towels on the heated towel rails.

However, if you would like your towels replaced please leave in shower.

Ensuite rooms and Standard cabins #1-17 are not serviced daily. If you would like your towels to be changed, please bring them to reception for replacement.



The guest laundry is located behind the Park Kitchen.

Automatic washing machines and dryers are available and operate with NZ $1 or $2 coins. A Hot wash takes 35 minutes and the Dryers take 45 minutes - both require $6.00 (NZ $1 or $2 coins only). Liquid Washing Detergent is available by pressing the button on the front of the Washing machines, once the machine is operating.

N.B. Washing machines are on the bottom with Dryers on top - please be sure to place coins in the correct slots.

Guest Laundry is open 24 hours daily.



Check out time is 10:00am.

Please switch lights, heaters, appliances etc. off and leave your key in the door of your room, or the key return box outside or inside reception.

If you require a later checkout time we will endeavor to accommodate your needs.  Late checkouts incur an hourly fee to a maximum 12 noon (2 hours).

Guests and their vehicles must leave at their allocated time and cannot return to use the facilities after their stay has concluded.

Hot tubs and Swimming pool

This free facility is for Guest use only.
Hours are 9am – 8.30pm daily (Swimming Pool only in summer)
There are the park showers and toilets nearby.
Children must be accompanied by an adult at all times in the pool area.
Infants must wear ‘swimming nappies’.

No food or drink in pool enclosure, please respect others and keep splashing/noise to a minimum.


Safety Deposit Facilities

We can safely store small items and your luggage at reception.


Smoking Facilities and Policy

Our rooms are non-smoking rooms.  There will be an additional charge of one night’s accommodation if you smoke in a room.  Please note that there are designated Smoking Areas around the Park with ashtrays provided. Please contact reception if you are unsure of the location of these areas.

Smoking in all hospitality venues, including bars, restaurants, cafes, and casinos, is prohibited in New Zealand.


Loss and Damage

If you cause any damage to your room or any loss of equipment from your room, you will be charged for repair or replacement, so please contact a Duty Manager so that we can discuss these charges prior to your departure.


Lost and Found Policy

When housekeepers find any items left behind in the room we will contact the guest who was last in the room to advise the item is there and hold it here on request or return the item (at guests cost, by courier). If we are unsure of who the item belongs to, a description of the item is entered into our lost and found log along with room number and date of stay. If there is no enquiry for the item after 3 months it is disposed of. Perishables will not be kept.


Television and DVD’s

En suite units: There is a small television in each unit with channels 1, 2 & 3 + other freeview channels.
Each television is specially tuned so we ask that you do not adjust your set.

Motel rooms: All our motel rooms have smart TV's so you can login to your Netflix account. This excludes our one-bedroom motel which doesn't have a smart tv but does have Sky.

Please call reception and we will happily assist you if required.

Infants High Chair hire - $8 p/stay
PortaCot hire - $8 p/stay
Crockery, Cutlery & Pots - $3.00 hire p/person + $20.00 bond
Porta-Pak holding tank chemicals for Campervan Toilets - $6  (2pk)
Electric Car Charging points (when available ) - $8.00 per night



We encourage our guests to recycle as much of their waste as possible to look after the environment. There are two recycle stations situated in the park with separate facilities for Glass, Plastic, Cardboard, Cans and General waste.

You will also find moving about the town that there are separate bins for recycling waste.



Kaikoura water is clean, clear and safe to drink straight from the tap.



If you have a problem with any external noise please contact reception (after hours intercom outside reception) immediately so that we can address the situation as soon as possible.

We have a ‘No Noise Policy’ after 10pm so please respect other guests after this time.



There is FREE on-site guest parking for 1 vehicle p/unit or site.  If you are having difficulty parking on-site contact reception so that we can help recommend the best area for you to park.

Additional vehicles, trailers, boats etc – contact reception for parking. Please be aware that in peak times, due to limited space,  extra parking may not be possible.



We have a Pets by arrangement policy. Please read the 'pets' page on our Website



We have a strict no party policy. This includes Stag and Hen nights. We reserve the right to cancel any bookings. Any guests who refuse to follow park rules will be removed.

Town Siren

You may hear an external Town Siren, Please don’t be alarmed, this Siren is to call Kaikoura’s volunteers to an emergency.

Kaikoura’s gym is located behind the New World Supermarket, 500m north on your right-hand-side



Food Shopping at ‘New World’ approximately 400m North of Park entrance.
Our main shopping street is ‘West End’ approximately 500m South of Park entrance.

There is a Public phone box on the main street (West End) opposite the pharmacy. Sim cards can be bought from the New World supermarket or paper plus. Plans can be purchased on the phone company's apps.
